Xymox, also known as Clan of Xymox, is a Dutch darkwave band whose 1989 album Twist of Shadows marked a move toward a more dance-oriented sound. Singles like “Obsession” and “Blind Hearts” brought them into the mainstream, blending gothic elements with synth-pop appeal. Enhanced by collaborations with Tony Visconti and the Arditti Quartet, Twist of Shadows achieved a balance between ethereal melodies and dance-floor-ready beats, enhanced by collaborations such as the Arditti Quartet, arranged by Tony Visconti.
