Founded by brothers Chris and Mark Reynolds in San Diego, originally from Liverpool. Their debut album, Naïve Art, released in 1989, is regarded as a classic of the synth-pop genre. Known for its combination of melodic synths, driving beats, and emotional vocals, Naïve Art featured standout tracks like "Russian Radio," and “Broken Heart” which achieved widespread success in clubs and on the Billboard charts.

In 2020, Naïve Art was re-released by Pylon Records to celebrate its 30th anniversary. This special expanded edition includes remastered tracks and four bonus songs, offering fans a deluxe double-vinyl version with printed lyrics and a gatefold cover. The re-release also corrects the original album’s format, which had been compressed to fit on a single vinyl, by restoring the full-length versions of the tracks.
